Service Description

Training Days: 1 Timings 9:30am - 5:00pm Minimum of 6 Candidates at once Free Parking At Baldev Skills Security, we deliver professional PMVA (Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression) training in Sheffield and across South Yorkshire, designed for professionals working in sectors where challenging behaviour may arise. This includes healthcare, education, social care, prisons, and correctional facilities. Our CPD-certified PMVA refresher course, accredited by Dynamis, equips candidates with the essential skills and knowledge to confidently and safely manage conflict situations. The course blends key theoretical learning with hands-on practice, ensuring participants refresh their understanding of primary and secondary interventions while demonstrating competency in a wide range of Breakaway and Physical Intervention techniques. All candidates must meet the RRN Training Standards prerequisites before enrolling. We strongly advise reviewing the entry requirements before registration. Course Content Participants will cover a comprehensive curriculum, including: - Relevant legislation, guidelines, and frameworks - Professional accountability and ethical considerations - Equality, diversity, and human rights - Risks in restraint (including positional asphyxia awareness) - The use of reasonable force in line with UK law - Conflict resolution and de-escalation strategies - Breakaway techniques and non-contact approaches - Practical physical intervention skills: standing holds, upper arm wraps, supine and prone holds, de-escalation drills, safe floor management, and seclusion options Course Objectives By the end of the PMVA training, participants will be able to: - Understand their legal responsibilities when using physical intervention - Apply the concept of reasonable force safely and proportionately - Recognise the ethical implications of physical intervention in professional practice - Identify possible causes of violence and aggression - Understand the assault cycle and recognise behaviours of concern at each stage - Apply a range of de-escalation strategies to prevent escalation - Assess and evaluate risk levels when dealing with challenging behaviour - Safely use appropriate physical and non-physical interventions to protect themselves and others Our PMVA training courses in Sheffield are led by expert trainers with years of frontline industry experience, ensuring practical, relevant, and effective learning.


Cancellation Policy

1. Purpose This policy outlines the terms and conditions for booking, attendance, and conduct during training courses provided by Baldev Skills Resources. It ensures a fair and respectful training environment for all participants and staff. 2. Booking Process All course bookings must be completed online via the Baldev Skills Resources website or booking platform or in person. Bookings will only be confirmed upon receipt of a minimum of £50 (non-refundable) booking fee, full payment, or an approved invoice arrangement. A confirmation email will be sent to the participant with joining instructions. 3. No-Show Policy Participants who fail to attend their booked training session without prior notification (at least 48 hours before the session) will be considered a 'No-Show'. No-shows are not eligible for a refund or transfer to another course date. 4. Refund Policy £50 Booking fee (Non-refundable) Refunds are only available if cancellations are made more than 48 hours in advance of the course date. No refunds will be issued for cancellations made less than 48 hours before the course or for no-shows. All approved refunds will be processed within 10-14 working days. 5. Late Arrival Participants who arrive more than 30 minutes after the course start time may be denied entry at the trainer’s discretion. In such cases, the booking will be treated as a no-show and no refund will be issued. 6. Behaviour and Conduct All participants are expected to behave respectfully towards trainers, staff, and fellow learners. Any form of violence, aggression, or abusive behaviour will result in immediate dismissal from the course. Dismissed participants will not be entitled to a refund or rescheduling. 7. Agreement By booking and attending a course with Baldev Skills Resources, you agree to adhere to the terms and conditions set out in this policy.
